Not too long ago, I had the honor of photographing two very opposite pups…Ginsburg, the super playful, ball-obsessed, never-met-a-stranger, Westie - and Kinzie, the recently rescued, sweet, timid and nervous Shepherd mix. I’m thinking these two are the true definition of opposites attracting and bringing out the best in each other!
Ginsburg, a two-year-old West Highland White Terrier, is an absolute bundle of joy! With his always happy and smiling face, he could easily be mistaken for a canine model. Lol! But it's his love for his tennis ball that truly steals the show. Whenever that fluffy yellow ball comes out, his excitement is simply infectious. (And it may even lead to him jumping in the pool at the start of his photo shoot. Hahaha! Whoops!!) Ginsburg’s happy-go-lucky nature is unparalleled and he has brought immeasurable happiness into his family’s lives since the moment he was brought home. I seriously challenge you to not smile when you see this little man!!!
Kinzie is a sweet one-year-old German Shepherd mix that has become a beautiful addition to her family since she was adopted from the Sedona Humane Society a few months ago. Sadly, Kinzie was incredibly timid due to abuse in her past. She has a strong aversion to anyone being behind her and becomes anxious with sudden movements or loud voices. Despite her fears, she displays no aggressive behaviors and instead cowers when she is afraid, which can be heartbreaking to witness. It is clear that Kinzie has had a difficult past, but slowly and surely, she is beginning to come out of her shell! During the first week in her new home, she had to be carried everywhere…from her crate to the yard and back. But now, she confidently joins her family on daily walks, obeying commands to heel and sit, and she even completed a beginners obedience class!!! Kinzie, you are truly remarkable and I can’t wait to see how far you’ve come next time we meet!
So without further ado, I introduce Ginsburg and Kinzie…
